Landgoed de Biestheuvel is a real family business. In 1982, the parents of the current owners took the first steps to convert their agricultural farm for recreation. Thus, the old cowshed was converted into the first group accommodation for 44 people. At this time, the agricultural part still had the focus, but the recreation branch was a passion that was worked on with enthusiasm.

From 1994, the children (the current owners) also left school and serious plans were made for a complete recreation company. In 1997 a big step was taken with the closure of the agricultural company and a complete focus on the recreation company (then called Hoeve Biestheuvel). That same year, quite a few accommodations were built and a complete main building with several halls was created. In the years that followed, many investments were made to improve the company, in 2006 two more accommodations were added and in 2010 the old house was renovated into the current accommodation 'de Hoeve'. This completes the 9 group accommodations.

The present

Of course, Landgoed de Biestheuvel does not stand still; the parents have left the company and the children have taken over the complete management. Even now, possible developments are still looked at every year to continue to meet the demand of the guests and to keep up with the developments of the present time. For example, consideration is given to the environment through the purchase of solar panels and solar water heaters. However, the family atmosphere of 'yesteryear' has not been forgotten. The team at Landgoed de Biestheuvel is small, so communication is short. We are happy to help and look forward to greeting you!

Hoeve Biestheuvel

In the meantime, the accommodations have been renovated, enlarged, rebuilt and refurbished a number of times so that they always evolved with time and demand. A number of accommodations have been adapted for care groups and all accommodations have been made wheelchair accessible. The main building also underwent changes. For example, the various rooms were made suitable for parties, meetings, weddings and dinners. A cozy terrace with a playground was also created. On the 23-hectare estate, steps were also taken for outdoor activities. Both relaxing and intensive activities were devised, to serve every group.

 

Landgoed de Biestheuvel

In 2008 another major change followed. Namely, 'Hoeve Biestheuvel' became 'Landgoed de Biestheuvel' by reorganizing the agricultural land into an estate with the planting of forests and grassland. The stream running through the estate regained its original meandering form and thus the grounds were developed into the form we still know today.
